SBOBET Malaysia Review 2026: Licence Check, Malay Odds and Live Betting
Short answer: SBOBET is an Asian Handicap sportsbook that runs its own betting site and also appears in the Sports lobby of some casinos. Its terms name Entrope S.R.L as operator under Tobique Gaming Commission licence no. 0000077, and on 20 October 2026 the commission's list showed Entrope S.R.L as a licence holder; its old Isle of Man licence was surrendered in May 2025. Who runs SBOBET, and the licence we checked
SBOBET's terms, dated 19 November 2025, say its site is owned and operated by Entrope S.R.L, a Costa Rica company (no. 3-102-935005), licensed under the Tobique Gaming Act 2023 by the Tobique Gaming Commission, licence no. 0000077. The commission regulates gambling for the Tobique First Nation in New Brunswick, Canada. On 20 October 2026 its public list showed Entrope S.R.L with a B2C licence valid to 12 June 2027; the list does not print licence numbers. Before that, the site was run by Celton Manx Limited, which the Isle of Man register lists as a former licence holder: licensed from 1 August 2008, surrendered on 9 May 2025.
Sports, bet types and Malay odds
SBOBET's help centre lists more than 40 sports, from football, badminton, basketball and tennis to table tennis, cricket, futsal and motor sport, and its site also carries esports. The basic bet types it names include 1X2, Asian Handicap, Over/Under, Odd/Even, Correct Score, Double Chance, Half Time/Full Time, first-half markets, Outright and Mix Parlay. It offers four odds formats: European (decimal), Hong Kong, Malay and Indo. With Malay odds, a positive price of 0.96 wins RM9.60 on a RM10 stake, while a negative price of -0.96 means you risk RM9.60 to win RM10. SBOBET says Mix Parlay is the only market with a payout cap.
Live betting, and how SBOBET appears inside a casino
SBOBET's site advertises in-play betting and live streaming video, and its help centre explains how to place a live bet. Inside an online casino, SBOBET usually sits in the Sports lobby: SBOBET supplies the odds and settles the bets, while the casino holds your balance, sets your bet limits and pays out. That split matters, because the Tobique licence above covers Entrope S.R.L's own site; we did not find a separate licence on a public register for supplying SBOBET to other casinos. A problem with a withdrawal goes to the casino, not to SBOBET.
What this means for a player in Malaysia
SBOBET's help centre lists the Malaysian ringgit among its currencies, and it warns that online gambling may be illegal where a customer lives. Online sports betting is not licensed in Malaysia, so no Malaysian body takes complaints. You may also be offered an SBOBET account by an 'agent' who gives credit outside any casino; that is a different and riskier arrangement, with no written terms and nobody to complain to if the agent does not pay. Note too that the Tobique commission was set up under a 2023 law, so its track record is far shorter than that of the Isle of Man regulator SBOBET used until 2025.
