About AsiaBetReview

AsiaBetReview is an independent review site for online casinos that accept players from Malaysia. Why we started

We started AsiaBetReview in 2025. There are five of us: long-time players, people who have worked in casino risk management, and people with a cybersecurity background. Before we started, we kept running into the same problem. Every time we searched for an honest casino review, we found the same thing: sponsored articles that read like the casino wrote them.

We also saw sites calling themselves "the #1 trusted casino" while holding players' money, locking accounts without a reason and running copied slot games. Players here in Malaysia were losing money because of bad sites, and it had nothing to do with luck. Nobody was putting the plain facts in one place, so we started doing it.

How we make money

We'd rather say this up front. When you sign up at a casino through a link on this site, the casino may pay us a commission. That's how the site pays for itself, including the deposits we make to test each casino.

It's also a conflict of interest, so these are the rules we work by:

  • Commission never changes a score or a ranking. A casino can't pay to move up, and it can't pay to have a bad review changed.
  • Every review lists the downsides. A review with nothing bad in it is just an ad.
  • If a casino stops paying players, it comes off the site, whatever it pays us.
  • We don't own or run any casino, and no casino owns us.

How we test a casino

Every casino goes through the same four checks. We don't tell the casino who we are, so it treats us like any other player.

1. Sign-up and deposit

We open a normal account and deposit with the methods players here actually use. Of the 22 casinos we track, 15 take DuitNow, 14 take Touch 'n Go and 6 take USDT. We note how fast the deposit lands and whether there are any fees.

2. Games

We check that the games come from real studios such as Pragmatic Play, Evolution and JILI, and whether an outside lab (BMM Testlabs, iTech Labs or GLI) tests them. Copied slots with the studio logo missing are the clearest sign of a scam site.

3. Support

We contact live chat late at night with real questions about bonus rollover and ID checks. A quick, useful answer at 3 AM tells you far more than a friendly one at 3 PM.

4. The withdrawal

This is the one that matters most. We ask for a withdrawal, time it from request to money arriving, and write down anything that gets in the way: extra ID requests, surprise limits, changed bonus rules. The withdrawal time in every review is the one we measured, not the one the casino advertises. Three of our testers do this at every casino, each on their own account, and the time we publish is the range across their withdrawals. That is why you see 1-5 minutes rather than one number: a bigger withdrawal, or one asked for late at night or on a weekend, comes through slower, and no casino pays in exactly the same time twice. We don't publish screenshots of these withdrawals, because they would show our testers' accounts and bank details.

How we rate casinos

Each casino gets a score out of 5 based on four things, in this order of weight: whether and how fast it pays, how fair its bonus terms are, how good its support is, and what can still be verified about it. Until the end of 2024 that last one meant the licence. It no longer can: the Philippines revoked every offshore PAGCOR licence and Curacao’s old sub-licences expired in January 2025, so what it now means in practice is whether an independent lab such as BMM Testlabs, iTech Labs or GLI tests the games. We re-scored every casino on that basis in September 2026; nothing moved by more than 0.09.

  • 4.8 to 5.0: paid fast with no hassle, and the bonus terms are clear.
  • 4.5 to 4.7: reliable, but there's one thing you should know before signing up. The review tells you what it is.
  • Below 4.5: it works, but something holds it back, like slower payouts, fewer games or nothing published that anyone outside the casino has checked.

A high score doesn't mean a casino suits everyone. That's why every review ends with who should skip it.

How we judge a licence

We don't test a casino once and forget about it. Throughout 2026 we've gone back to each casino we list and re-tested deposits and withdrawals, and every figure on this site comes from those 2026 tests.

Casinos change their bonuses, limits and payment options all the time, and a site that paid well last year can go downhill. Every review shows the date it was last updated. When a casino's offer or terms change, we update the review and the date. If a casino stops paying players, we take it off the site and say why.

Malaysia doesn't license online casinos. Which licence is best for an online casino in Malaysia?

None of them, which is the honest answer in 2026. PAGCOR used to be the one worth having, but the Philippines revoked every offshore gaming licence on 31 December 2024 and made the ban permanent with Republic Act 12312 in October 2025, so the four casinos here that still show a PAGCOR badge have nothing behind it. Curacao replaced its own regime at the same time and the old sub-licence names ("Gaming Curacao", "Curacao eGaming") expired in January 2025. Anjouan, which BK8 uses, is the lightest of the lot. What still separates these casinos is whether an independent lab has tested the games: 5 of the 22 publish BMM Testlabs, iTech Labs or GLI results.
