Who runs IM Sports, and the licence we could check
IM Sports is sold by Inplay Matrix, which describes itself as a B2B sportsbook technology provider founded in 2009 and gives an office address in Ramsey, Isle of Man. Trade press has described the company as Philippines-based and reported a new hub in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 2024. The Isle of Man companies register shows that a company once named Inplay Matrix Limited, at the same Ramsey address, was later renamed and was dissolved in 2020. On 20 October 2026 we found no Inplay Matrix entry on the Isle of Man, Malta, UK or Curaçao gambling registers. The company's own FAQ says it does not handle players' money and cannot supply a licence to operators.
Sports, markets and odds formats
Inplay Matrix publishes little detail about the IM Sports betting menu. Its archived 2018 product page promised coverage of major sports and leagues, Asian-style markets, combo bets (its name for parlays) and a feature called Bet Trade, which lets a player sell a ticket back before it settles to lock in a profit or cut a loss. The match visualiser on that page tracks goals, corners and red cards, so football is clearly central, while esports are sold as a separate product called IM Esports. We found no list of odds formats on the company's own pages, so we cannot yet confirm whether Malay odds are shown by default.
Live betting, and how IM Sports sits inside a casino
Inplay Matrix says its platform handles event creation, pricing, risk management, bet acceptance and settlement, and supports real-time betting. Its 2018 mobile app pages listed live streaming in the single-event view, an odds trend chart and live results. In 2026 the company told trade press about two AI tipster features: Uncle Boris for pre-match picks and Sister Song for matches in play. When a casino adds IM Sports to its sports lobby, Inplay Matrix supplies the odds and settles bets, while the casino holds your balance, sets the limits and pays out. Which features you see depends on the casino.
What this means for a player in Malaysia
Online sports betting is not licensed in Malaysia, and a supplier's paperwork, or the lack of it, does not change that. Because IM Sports reaches players only through operators, the casino is the party that holds your deposit and handles withdrawals, so its licence and payout record matter more than the supplier's. Chinese-language search results for IM体育 are crowded with copycat pages calling themselves the official IM Sports site. Inplay Matrix says it does not run player-facing sites, so treat any page that asks you to register or deposit under the IM Sports name with care.
