M8Bet Review 2026: Sportsbook, Malay Odds and Licence Check

Short answer: M8Bet is an Asian sportsbook that says it launched in 2007 and offers Asian Handicap, over/under, 1X2 and mix parlay betting with Malay, Hong Kong, Indonesian and decimal odds; some casinos also carry it in their sports lobbies. Its archived About page claimed a First Cagayan licence from the Philippines, but on 20 October 2026 we could not find that licence on a public register we could check. Our testers have not bet on it yet.

Who runs M8Bet, and the licence we could check

M8Bet's own pages do not name the company behind it. Its archived About page says M8Bet launched in August 2007, and a 2016 version claimed it had been 'regulated and licensed since 21/05/2012 by First Cagayan, Philippines', the licensing company of the Cagayan Economic Zone. We could not confirm that: neither the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority nor First Cagayan publishes a licensee list we could search, and on 20 October 2026 we found no M8Bet entry on the Malta, UK, Isle of Man or Curaçao registers. Since at least February 2024, M8Bet's home page has carried the name M9BET in its title and footer, while still using the M8BET logo file.

Sports, markets and Malay odds

M8Bet's About page claimed more than 3,000 in-play events every week, naming soccer, basketball, tennis and badminton. Its sports betting rules, archived in 2016, contain rules for more than 40 sports, from football and badminton to horse racing, motor sport, snooker and table tennis. The bet types listed are 1X2, Asian Handicap, correct score, double chance, first to start, half time/full time, mix parlay, money line, odd/even, outright, over/under and period betting. The same rules list four odds types: European (decimal), Malay, Indonesian and Hong Kong. In a mix parlay, a cancelled match is voided and the rest of the parlay stands with the odds recalculated.

Live betting, and how M8Bet appears inside a casino

M8Bet's rules describe In Running, or live, betting on matches marked as live, and its home page has a separate In-Play tab. For live Asian Handicap, the rules explain two ways scores are displayed and warn that scores and timers shown during a match are for information only. We did not see live streaming mentioned on its pages. When a casino adds M8Bet to its sports lobby, M8Bet supplies the odds and settles the bets, while the casino holds your balance, sets the limits and pays out. Recent versions of M8Bet's home page also list other products, including live casino, keno and slots.

What this means for a player in Malaysia

Online sports betting is not licensed in Malaysia. M8Bet is also sold through agents: its home page has a Become an Agent link, and older versions referred players to their immediate agent for questions about bets. Agent credit accounts outside a casino are a different and riskier arrangement, because no licensed operator stands between you and the bookmaker when it comes to deposits, withdrawals or disputes. If you meet M8Bet inside a casino's sports lobby, rely on that casino's licence and payout record instead. Search results for M8Bet also mix in many look-alike names and agent pages, so check exactly which site you are on before entering any details.

What our testers will check

Hands-on testing has not started, and nothing on this page comes from our own betting. When our testers start placing bets on M8Bet inside a casino, they plan to record which odds formats the lobby offers and whether Malay odds are the default, how quickly live Asian Handicap bets are accepted or rejected on a Malaysian mobile connection, how a mix parlay with a postponed match is settled, and how long winning bets take to reach the balance. They will also note the minimum and maximum stakes at a few casinos. Until then, this review reports only what M8Bet's own pages and public registers show, as checked on 20 October 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Is M8Bet legit?

M8Bet has run since 2007 by its own account and some casinos carry it, but we could not confirm a licence. Its old About page claimed a First Cagayan licence from the Philippines, and on 20 October 2026 we found no searchable register for that and no M8Bet entry on the Malta, UK, Isle of Man or Curaçao registers. Check the casino's licence too.

What sports can you bet on at M8Bet?

Its About page named soccer, basketball, tennis and badminton, and its 2016 rules cover more than 40 sports, including horse racing, motor sport, snooker, table tennis, volleyball, ice hockey, cricket, boxing and MMA. What you see on a given day depends on the fixtures and on the casino.

Is M8Bet now called M9BET?

Since at least February 2024 M8Bet's home page has shown M9BET in its title and footer, while the page still loads an M8BET logo file. M8Bet has not published an explanation that we could find, and casinos still list the sportsbook as M8Bet.

What odds formats does M8Bet use?

Its rules list European (decimal), Malay, Indonesian and Hong Kong odds. In Malay odds a positive price such as 0.85 is the profit on each 1 you stake, while a negative price such as -0.90 means you stake 0.90 to win 1. Which formats a casino shows can vary.

Does M8Bet have live betting?

Yes. Its rules cover In Running (live) betting on matches marked live, and its home page has an In-Play tab. We did not find live streaming mentioned on its pages.

What is an M8Bet agent?

M8Bet has long been sold through agents who open credit accounts for players, and its home page has a Become an Agent link. This is different from using M8Bet inside a casino, and riskier, because no licensed operator sits between you and the bookmaker.

Which casinos have M8Bet?

Our casino records note M8Bet where a casino names it as a sportsbook provider, and at least one casino we review lists it. We do not publish a list here; the sports lobby at each casino is the place to check.

When did M8Bet start?

M8Bet's archived About page says it launched in August 2007. Its later About page said it had been licensed by First Cagayan since 21 May 2012, which we could not confirm on a public register.
