Short answer: CQ9 lists six fish shooting games on its official demo site, including Paradise, Paradise 2, Hero Fishing and Onestick Fishing, each with a published RTP of 96% to 97%. On 20 October 2026 we could not find a CQ9 licence on a public register we could check, though GLI's own site shows a certificate for CQ9 Limited's random number generator. Our testers have not played these games yet.

Who makes CQ9 fishing games, and what we could check

CQ9 Gaming is an Asian studio that makes slots, fishing, table and arcade games for casino operators; a 2022 article on its own site says it launched in 2016. The same article says it holds licences from Curaçao eGaming and from Gaming Laboratories International, but gives no number, and GLI is a test lab, not a regulator. Neither CQ9 nor CQ9 Limited appears in the Curaçao Gaming Authority's licence registry updated on 14 October 2026, or in the UK register. GLI's own site does list a certificate: CQ9 Limited's random number generator passed testing on 25 October 2022, valid until April 2027. CQ9's slots are reviewed separately on our site.

CQ9's fishing titles and what sets them apart

CQ9's home page sells its fishing games on a circular fisheye design, multiplayer tables and high-multiplier bosses, and its demo site lists six. Paradise seats four players at one table, with special fish that pay random bonuses and skill cards. OneShot Fishing is an upright game where collecting seven dragon balls summons a dragon boss worth 500x. Lucky Fishing has fish that drop random power-ups and a three-stage cannon. Hero Fishing gives superhero cannons, a Steel Glove and Thor's Hammer, and two bosses worth up to 500x. Onestick Fishing, added in March 2025, follows the Great Sage legend with six cannons, and Paradise 2 adds an island map.

RTP: what CQ9 publishes

CQ9's demo-site data gives each fishing game an RTP and a maximum win: Paradise 97.00% and 1,000x, Hero Fishing 96.07% and 1,000x, and OneShot Fishing, Lucky Fishing, Onestick Fishing and Paradise 2 at 96.00%, with top wins of 500x, 700x, 1,000x and 1,000x. These are CQ9's own long-run figures; a fishing game's return depends on capture chances you cannot see, so it cannot be worked out from the rules. CQ9 does not say whether casinos can choose a different setting, so the RTP in the game's information screen at your casino is the one that applies.

What this means for a player in Malaysia

CQ9 says it builds its games on an HTML5 engine, and its data marks OneShot Fishing and Onestick Fishing as portrait games, made for holding a phone upright, while Paradise, Lucky Fishing and Hero Fishing are landscape. CQ9 sells to operators, so these tables appear only inside a casino's fishing lobby, and each casino sets the bet range. Online casinos are not licensed in Malaysia. CQ9 names each fishing game in Chinese and English plus a few other languages, such as Thai and Vietnamese, but Malay is not among them. Every title has a free demo on CQ9's demo site.

What our testers will check

Hands-on testing has not started, and nothing on this page comes from our own play. When our testers open CQ9's fishing games, they plan to note how fast Paradise and Hero Fishing load on a Malaysian mobile connection, whether the portrait games really suit an upright phone, the lowest and highest cannon bets at a few casinos, and whether each game's information screen shows the same RTP as CQ9's demo data. Until then, this review reports only what CQ9 and GLI publish, as read on 20 October 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Is CQ9 legit?

CQ9 is a real studio with a GLI certificate for its random number generator, but we could not confirm a gambling licence. Its 2022 claim of a Curaçao eGaming licence has no number, and CQ9 is not in the Curaçao Gaming Authority's registry of 14 October 2026. A studio's licence would not cover the casino anyway, so check who runs the casino.

What is the RTP of CQ9 Paradise?

CQ9's demo-site data lists Paradise at 97.00% with a maximum win of 1,000x. Paradise 2 is listed at 96.00%, also with 1,000x. The figure that applies is the one in the game's information screen at your casino.

What fishing games does CQ9 have?

CQ9's demo site lists six: Paradise, Paradise 2, OneShot Fishing, Lucky Fishing, Hero Fishing and Onestick Fishing. Older fishing records such as Water Margin Fishing and Thunder Fighter still exist in its data but are not on the current list and have no RTP.

How many players can play CQ9 Paradise together?

CQ9 says Paradise lets four players fish at the same time, which adds competition between them. OneShot Fishing also puts four players in one room. Paradise 2, Lucky Fishing and Hero Fishing are tagged multiplayer, but CQ9 gives no number for them.

What is CQ9 Onestick Fishing?

Onestick Fishing (一棒捕鱼) is a portrait fishing game added in March 2025 and themed on the Great Sage legend. CQ9 lists six turret-style weapons, reward spells and a Spider Demon worth 10x to 100x; gathering six Senses summons the Great Sage boss. CQ9 lists it at 96.00% RTP with a 1,000x maximum win.

Can I try CQ9 fishing games for free?

Yes. CQ9's official demo site, linked from its home page, has a free demo for each of the six fishing games. We have not compared the demos with casino versions, so use them to learn the controls, not to judge payouts.

Can I play CQ9 fishing games on my phone?

Yes, they are HTML5 games. OneShot Fishing and Onestick Fishing are made for an upright phone; Paradise, Lucky Fishing and Hero Fishing are landscape, so you turn the phone sideways. How smoothly they run depends on the casino site and your connection.

Do CQ9 fishing games have Malay?

Not in CQ9's data. Every fishing game is named in Chinese, English, Thai and Vietnamese, and some also in Indonesian, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese or Russian, but none in Malay. A casino may still show its own menus in Malay.
