CQ9 Slot Review 2026: Tested on Three Phones, With Official RTP
Short answer: 2 of the 22 casinos we tested list CQ9: SLOTS33 and 7SLOTS. Our three testers scored it 3.67 out of 5 on their phones.
Our hands-on review of CQ9 slots
CQ9 slots have an old-school feel. The newer games play upright, but all three of our testers found older ones that only play sideways. On Wi-Fi and 5G they ran smoothly; on 4G the first game took five seconds to open and stuttered now and then as it loaded. Two testers never reached a bonus in 15 minutes and found their sessions tight; the third reached one and found it average. That is an impression of a short session, not of payback. All three saw Chinese and English, none saw Malay. CQ9 publishes the RTP and maximum win of each game, but we could not confirm a licence. Two of the 22 casinos we tested list it.

What our testers noticed
- Bernard: Jump Higher's nightclub music is great fun, but in 15 minutes I stayed one dancing Scatter short of the bonus. The older games are still landscape only, while the newer ones play upright.
- HY: One of my games faithfully recreates a classic arcade machine; I got into its bonus and the guess-big-or-small round, and the result was ordinary. Some of the older games still need the phone turned sideways.
- Rizqi: On 4G the graphics took a while to load, and Football Baby went through spin after spin without a win. Downloads on a weak connection need to be faster.
Official RTP and maximum win

| Fly Out | 96.18% | 3,000x | — |

| Lucky Bats | 96.02% | 3,000x | — |
These are CQ9's published figures, from the game data on its official demo site, read on 16 October 2026, not a promise about the game you open: the RTP shown in the game's information screen at your casino is the one that applies. CQ9 does not publish release dates, so that column is blank. Its slots run from 95.91% to 97.5%, and CQ9 rates 73 of its 122 slots high volatility, so long spells without a win are normal, which matches what two of our testers felt. A 15-minute session like our testers' shows how a game feels, not what it pays back over time.
Licence and testing
CQ9's own site shows no licence number. A 2022 article on its site says it holds licences from Curaçao eGaming and from Gaming Laboratories International, but GLI is a test lab, not a regulator, and when we searched the Curaçao Gaming Authority's register of online gaming licences (list updated 14 October 2026) we did not find CQ9 or CQ9 Limited. What we could check is GLI's certificate: CQ9 Limited's random number generator passed testing on 25 October 2022, and the certificate is valid until April 2027; it covers the number generator, not each game. We looked on 16 October 2026. None of the casinos that take Malaysian players is licensed in Malaysia. CQ9's official demo site lists 141 games, 122 of them slots, each with a free demo.
Who it suits
Players who like classic Taiwanese arcade-style slots, nightclub and dance-music themes such as the Jump series, and high-volatility games that can stay quiet for a long time. Play on Wi-Fi or 5G if you can, and if a game only plays sideways, look for its upright M or Mobile version in the casino's game list.

Frequently asked questions
Is CQ9 legit?
CQ9 is a real studio with a public demo site and a GLI-certified random number generator, but when we checked on 16 October 2026 we could not confirm a current licence: its site gives no licence number, and CQ9 is not on the Curaçao Gaming Authority's register of online gaming licences, although a 2022 article on its site mentions a Curaçao licence.
What is the RTP of CQ9 slots?
CQ9 publishes an exact figure for each game on its demo site, from 95.91% for the game 888 to 97.5% for Xmas across its 122 slots. Jump Higher and Disco Night are 96.18%, Kronos 96.00% and Gu Gu Gu 2 95.97%. The figure that applies is the one in the game's information screen at your casino.
Which CQ9 slot has the biggest maximum win?
On its demo site, Night City, at 80,000 times the bet. Of the games in our table, Gu Gu Gu 2 goes highest, at 8,000x; Jump Higher and Disco Night reach 5,000x, and Kronos, Fly Out and Lucky Bats 3,000x.
Are CQ9 slots high volatility?
Most are. CQ9 rates 73 of its 122 slots high, 35 medium and 14 low; Jump Higher, Disco Night, Fly Out and Gu Gu Gu 2 are high, Kronos medium and Lucky Bats low. Two testers went 15 minutes without a bonus, which high volatility allows for, but a short session proves nothing about payback.
Do CQ9 games play upright on a phone?
Some do. CQ9 marks 37 of its slots portrait and 82 landscape, and it makes upright versions of several older games, such as Jump Higher Mobile, Disco Night M and Lucky Bats M. All three testers found games that only play sideways. The first game opened in 3 to 5 seconds, slowest on 4G, where it also stuttered now and then.
Are CQ9 games in Chinese and Malay?
Chinese and English, yes; Malay, no. None of our testers saw Malay, and CQ9's demo site offers nine languages, none of them Malay.
Can I play CQ9 slots for free?
Yes. CQ9's official demo site, linked from its main site, opens a free demo of every game it lists, so you can see how a slot plays before you put money into a casino.
What games does CQ9 make?
Its demo site lists 141 games: 122 slots, among them its Jump series, 10 arcade games, 6 fishing games and 3 table games. CQ9's own site says it launched in 2016.
How many casinos carry CQ9?
Two of the 22 casinos we tested list CQ9 among their games. A studio deal says nothing about whether a casino pays out, so read each casino's own review too.
How did you test CQ9?
Three testers each played three CQ9 games for about 15 minutes on their own phone, one on Wi-Fi, one on 5G and one on 4G, and scored the interface, the speed and the whole experience out of 5.
