If you are looking for 188BET, the brand no longer exists under that name. Its operator, CyberArena, rebranded the site to taptap on 1 July 2025. That matters for Malaysian players, because old 188BET links and any site still calling itself 188BET are now either redirects or copies. Check where a link actually takes you before you log in or deposit.
What is 188BET (now taptap)?
A long-running Asia-facing sportsbook, casino and esports brand, now operating as taptap with headquarters listed in Belize City. The rebrand came with a new brand identity and cryptocurrency payments. Many Malaysian sites with "188bet" in the domain are affiliates or look-alikes rather than the operator.
Licence: what it claims and what we could check
- The name change: CyberArena announced the rebrand from 188BET to taptap with effect from 1 July 2025, reported by GlobeNewswire and picked up by the trade press.
- Licence: the operator is registered in Belize and licensed offshore. There is no Malaysian licence, as Malaysia does not license online betting at all.
- What we could not check: we have no account there and have not tested a payout, so we won't rate it.

When a big brand changes name, its old domains get bought, copied and passed around in chat groups. A page that looks like the 188BET you remember may be collecting logins. If you had an account, go through the operator's current site and its own support, and never log in through a link someone sent you.
